True confession: some weeks I am so busy I go for days piling dirty dishes in the sink. Equally disturbing to me is when the sink is full, not of real dishes like plates and bowls, but with plastic lunch containers.

Cookie house

Living room

Beginning with our dollhouse days through sharing a bedroom and finally to buying the Cookie house, it is evident that Julie and I have different approaches to home decorating. I like to rearrange things; Julie likes them to stay the same.

Julie has been in Africa for a year, and I can't even remember all the things that have changed in the Cookie house. Rooms and doors have been painted. Cupboards have been hung. Windows have been replaced. And I've arranged and rearranged. So yesterday, I decided to tour the Cookie house and document its current state so that Julie isn't totally surprised when she comes for a visit next month.

Preparation

 Our family hosted our annual harvest party last Friday evening. We pressed apple cider, fried apple fritters, roasted hot dogs, shared potluck food, and bounced along on a hay ride. You can imagine how busy I was during the actual event because I didn't get any pictures while our guests were here.
