 Shortly after we cut the back wall off the sunroom, the temperatures dropped. Tuesday morning I discovered that the pipes to my washer and laundry tub were frozen. I turned up the furnace and ran the dryer, and the pipes thawed. That evening I borrowed a space heater and stapled up some plastic.

I had a blessed birthday last week, filled with birthday wishes, emails, texts, and phone calls from coworkers, friends, family and even a few businesses. I felt very loved (well, by everyone but the businesses).

This was the view from my upstairs bedroom a couple of weeks ago. The leaves are no longer on the tree. Now they are underneath it.

Julie is in Pennsylvania now, starting her new job. But, we got a lot of tea drinking in while she was here for a week and look forward to sharing more pots of tea when she comes home for an extended visit in December.

Resolution

Recently I resolved to wash my dishes every day. I usually don't accumulate that many dirty dishes in a day, so it seemed a waste to wash a couple of spoons, a cup and a couple of lunch containers. But, I've discovered that a sink full of dirty dishes disturb my sense of well-being. I've also discovered that washing the dishes is a good excuse to take a break from studying for my master's classes. So, at least once a day I make sure I have a clean kitchen. 

Go ahead and call me crazy. I have a working dishwasher that I use for a drying rack.

 Charlie is an "uncle." Judith and the kids came for a brief visit recently and they brought Sadie with them. Sadie is Judith's adorable yellow lab pup who loves to play with Uncle Charlie.

After a year in Zambia, Africa, Julie arrived back in the United States last Thursday. Needless to say, there's been plenty of talking the past couple of days.
