Shower chair

 Six years ago, after the accident, I wrote about the luxury of a shower. This week Betsy climbed up to the attic to retrieve the shower chair to give away. I was very pleased when the insurance company agreed to purchase that chair, and I was also very pleased to watch it leave the house, knowing that no one in my family needed it any more. 

After the storm

 We had a proper storm yesterday, complete with the university closing for the day.

(I thought my nephew would like to watch my driveway getting cleaned)

I don't really think about the water softener until it breaks.

Sick day

 One of the things I like about my new position is that I have sick days. I took my first sick day yesterday and I was glad that I could lie on the couch without having to arrange a sub and send lesson plans and wonder if I really should have just dragged myself to class.

My office doesn't have a window, but my boss graciously shares hers with me. We were writing an annual report yesterday when we took a moment to watch big, wet flakes of snow floating from the sky.

It's no surprise--I really like my new smart phone. 

Christmas trim

Logan never liked the fabric-covered-cardboard trim that I tacked around the front door. So, for Christmas he gave me some boards, which he installed and I promptly painted.
