Mervin Potteiger passed way last Sunday.

When he and his wife Ruth came to pastor at Bethel Brethren in Christ Church, after serving in Romania, they were strangers. When they left to retire to his home state of Pennsylvania, they were friends.

I am one of the many, many people around the world whose life has been influenced by Brother Potteiger's service and testimony.

Tulip time

Mom, Naomi, Aunt Phyllis and I visited Holland, Michigan last Saturday. The tulips were past their prime, but we still managed to find some that were photograph-worthy.

On Saturday, Mom, Betsy, Libby, Naomi and I visited the Dow Gardens. The weather was chilly, but the gardens were spectacular.

On Monday, Mom, Dad, Julie, Naomi and I strolled in the Dow Gardens. It was a prime opportunity to shoot a few senior portraits for Naomi. This was my favorite.

Commencement

I'm all dressed up, but I didn't graduate; I participated with SVSU faculty and staff.

We have four graduates in our family this year.

On Saturday morning, Brian walked in the commencement ceremony at Saginaw Valley State University. He will finish the last class toward his degree in Mechanical Engineering this summer.

Libby is also graduating. She will complete her degree in Animal Science from MSU this summer. She opted not to walk in the commencement ceremonies. Otherwise, we would have had her ceremony to attend on Saturday as well.

Logan and Naomi are our other graduates. Logan graduated from Delta College, and Naomi is completing the last of her high school work this spring.

 Kate, my boss, and I made personalized mugs for each member of our full-time staff using sayings that we found on the internet. 

Graduation

 It's graduation season. Logan participated in the Delta College commencement ceremony Friday where he was awarded his Associates Degree with highest honors. Logan plans to continue taking classes at Delta in the fall, and then transfer to a university to complete a bachelor's degree in construction management.
