Fajitas on the patio

 Naomi and I took advantage of the fact that it was only the two of us for dinner on Wednesday night and ate fajitas on the patio. Our normal dinner companions would not have been nearly as enthusiastic to be eating a dish with peppers in the company of mosquitoes.

Canning tomatoes

I canned tomatoes last week.

On Saturday, I picked the tomatoes (from Lauren Mae's garden) and washed them.

On Monday, I sliced them and ground them (at my mom's house since my blender had a mishap with a spoon a few months ago).

On Tuesday, I ladled the tomato sauce into jars and canned it.

On Wednesday, I reprocessed the jar that didn't seal.

On Thursday, I removed the rings.

On Friday, I and washed the outside of the jars.

On Saturday, I took the jars down to the basement and arranged them on shelves.

Brian tried to persuade me that my new table and chairs are too matchy-matchy for my house, and are better suited for his. His apparent concern about my furniture didn't keep him from eating pizza on Wednesday night, though.

While Julie and a friend were visiting over Labor Day weekend, we had a girls' evening of cooking and sharing pork vindaloo, rice, cucumber raita, naan, milk tea, and peach lassis.

I took detour past the pond on my walk from the parking lot to the office yesterday because the morning light was so beautiful. I am especially blessed that my office, located on the second floor of the building on the left, overlooks such lovely landscape.
