Our excuse was buying a lug of cherries in northwestern Michigan. Last Friday, Mom, Naomi and I took our last fling before the start of the blueberry season. We immersed ourselves in the Grand Traverse Bay, climbed the Grand Traverse Lighthouse and explored a bike trail near Traverse City. We even managed to buy a few quarts of cherries on our way home.
You just described one of my all-time favorite getaways for Mark's and my anniversary trip. We did all the things you described, plus ate at a diner where Henry Ford used to eat, and had an amazing dinner at the Boathouse Restaurant on Bowers Harbor. We went in the Fall, so had all the gorgeous Michigan colors to enjoy as well. Such wonderful memories!
