Two more notable ebooks that I've consumed lately are The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See.The Book Thief takes place in Nazi Germany during the Second World War. Through the voice of an unconventional narrator, it tells the story of a young girl learning the power of words.
Snow Flower, set in China in the nineteenth century, follows the lives of two young girls. The author depicts the customs and beliefs of the time, including foot-binding, without imposing twenty-first century western values on its characters.
The Book Thief is on of my favorites!
