Nine

I baked enough raspberry mini-cheesecakes that we can invite nine people to Sunday dinner. Maybe we will have visitors at church today...

    Our Sunday School lesson was about the parable of the great banquet in Luke 14. The children learned about the funny way invitations were sent by tradition. Do you know about it?

    A servant went to the guest's home with the invitation. The guest would say, "I cannot possibly come. I am not worthy." Then the servant would flatter the guest until they agreed to come. Later, the servant was sent back again to announce the feast was ready. I had one child in Sunday School observe, "Wow! That sounds like a waste of time!"
