Monday marked eleven weeks since the automobile accident that upset our lives. It was also the first day that Aaron returned to work with the tree service. He's not up to full speed, but he's slowly gaining strength and endurance. He still deals with pain in his head, neck and shoulders.
In about another week Julie will have spent as much time at home after the accident as she spent in the hospital. She has aqua therapy three times a week to strengthen her muscles without stressing her bones. She graduated from a walker to using two crutches, but is still limited to putting only fifty percent of her weight on her right leg.
Betsy's doctor encouraged her to slowly resume activity. Slow isn't Betsy's speed. I finally posted a sign at the bottom of the stairs to remind Betsy not to try to bounce up the steps two at a time. Otherwise she remembers halfway up when her organs start hurting.
Sometimes it's discouraging because steps seem very small and slow. But, at least they are in the right direction.
Thank God for progress!
ReplyDeleteYes! Thank God.
ReplyDeleteBetsy and I have something in common. I always go up stairs two at a time also :)
