Winter is jealous. That's how my Korean students explain nasty weather following a hint of spring.
Winter was particularly vengeful Wednesday. After it snowed, sleeted and rained throughout the night, roads were treacherous, schools were closed, and for about forty-five minutes our electricity was out.
Sounds like you got hit a little worse than we did. I've been remembering what Pa Ingalls said in "The Long Winter"--"Winter has to quit sometime, but we don't!"

Jealous winter is a great way to describe why it keeps going long after it's welcome! What a great snowy action shot, though!

ReplyDeleteAmy, I loved this picture you took of spring being "jealous" in Michigan. (gotta love those Korean ways of wording things). I remembering my Michigan days today in Texas as I mope around on the first cloudly, drizzly day we have had in months. It makes me feel sort of like I'm back in Michigan with drizzle, blusterly winds and the wind chill that is all the way down to 68 degrees. Make the cold soak right into your bones if you leave you sandals and shorts on. Smiles... Uncle Keith
ReplyDeleteWe had tornados and snow within days of each other this past week. Winter was apparently very jealous here in Iowa!
