Bethel

We met for the last time at the Bethel Brethren in Christ Church on August 11. It was a day of many emotions.

Virtual Sunday school

One of the things we learned during the COVID shut-down last year was how to have Sunday School remotely.

We've returned to having meetings in our building on Sunday morning, but most Sundays a few of us join virtually, whether because of distance or illness. I have been blessed by virtual Sunday school, and if you ever want to join us, leave me a message and I'll send you the link.

He is alive!

Sunrise service last year will remain one of my favorites. A handful of us gathered at the top of Overlook Park to sing and pray and celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead!

The sunrise was gray, the weather was chilly, we didn't share a breakfast, and we remained physically distanced across the parking lot, but it was incredibly meaningful to join together to praise our risen Lord.

Sadness

Out hearts are filled with sadness at the unexpected loss yesterday of Jimmy Lang, my cousin Carmen's husband and the father of their nine children. He was also the pastor at our church

Church flowers

Normally this time of year, I would take an arrangement of flowers to church on Sunday. Since that's not possible, I decided to share them here.

Noah

I bought the wooden Noah and the ark at a garage sale years ago. It continues to be a hit with kids at church and at my house.
