God made the world and a man and a woman. The man and woman sinned (were bad), and couldn't be with God anymore. But God promised that one day He would make people perfect again so that they could be with Him.
Thousands of years later, God came down from Heaven to earth and became a man. He was perfect. He took the sins of everyone. Then he died, so that they could be perfect.
But, he didn't stay dead. Three days later he came to life. Before he returned to Heaven, He promised that He would come back to take his people to Heaven to be with Him.
Maybe He will come back today!
