Chicken butchering

Note: Aunts in Arizona with queasy stomachs, who ignore warnings about blood and guts on butchering posts, may wish to skip this post.

Tuesday's job was butchering chickens. Libby convinced us to help her and we spent the day relocating twenty-two chickens from the movable pen near the orchard to the freezer in the basement. Jimmy, our cousin-in-law and former chicken owner, had entirely too much fun chopping off chicken heads.

(Betsy's favorite part is pulling out the internal organs.)
