New normal

Life is settling into a routine.

Mom and I alternate between spending time at the hospital and at home. In the evening we switch places and one of us spends the next twenty-four hours with Julie (thus the abundance of photos through Julie's window) while the other manages the household and schooling at home.

In the morning Dad leaves for work. Sometimes he stays for the entire day, other days he comes home early to take Aaron or Betsy or Naomi to a doctor appointment.

Aaron and Betsy spend their days in recliners in the living room. Aaron studies farm magazines and searches for farm equipment on the internet. Betsy knits and crochets and talks on the phone with Julie.

We are finding our new definition of normal.

  1. Love these photos, Amy:-) I especially love seeing all the cards on the wall in your living room and and in Julie's hospital room! We'll be adding a little something to that next week--watch your mailbox!:-)

I'm assuming you're watching a DVD on Betsy's computer in the second picture? It seems funny somehow, to have everybody staring at a computer screen!

Tell Betsy I love her socks!

  3. Amy...I found Julie's care center yesterday quite easily...just follow the view of the steeple! Thanks for the frequent "map" that visitors can use to navigate :-) And I have borrowed your Psalm 96 book of photos. Spectacular! Didn't know this type of thing was possible.
