Sunday sky

More by coincidence than planning I've embarked on a series of images through Julie's window. The sky was unusually blue and the clouds were fast-moving Sunday afternoon when I focused on the church steeple across the road. Earlier in the day I watched as parishioners parked vehicles and walked across the parking lot and up the steps into the building. It was comforting to know that the real world continues outside hospital walls.

Broken & bruised body update

Aaron has visited the eye doctor and the facial bone doctor and received good reports from them both. He shouldn't have long-term damage to his right eye and through there was damage to the sinus cavity it probably won't cause him problems.

Julie had a good report after her x-ray Monday. Her bones are in the right position. She will have another x-ray in two weeks and may be able to try standing then (she won't be able to sit because that would put too much pressure on her pelvis).

Betsy is recovering well at home. She has a home-health nurse who visits her and a machine that checks her weight, blood pressure and oxygen levels and transmits the data automatically to the doctors. Dad continues to wrangle with doctor's offices and insurance companies to schedule follow-up CT scans and x-rays.

Naomi's arm is healing well. She had stitches removed last Thursday--eleven from her arm and a total of seven from her leg. She visited a specialist last week. It appears that she has a pebble or piece of metal still in her arm, but her body may work that out itself.
