Steps

On Saturday Julie, for the first time in nearly four weeks, got out of bed. The color drained from her lips and she nearly fainted before the therapists laid her back in bed. But she stood up.

On Monday she stood for a full minute before she felt light headed. On Tuesday she stood and then reclined in a wheelchair for forty-five minutes.

And on Wednesday Julie walked. She graduated from the parallel bars and ventured down the hall with a walker, two therapists, a wheelchair and a sister with a camera. She walked thirty feet!

They were little steps, but she's going somewhere!

(We're hoping and praying that somewhere is home before too long!)

  1. Yes!! Praise God for every step, big and small. I hope she'll soon be stepping back into her home, too!

  4. Glad she is getting there, and all the restare doing well.

I was thinking of you all as I sit here on the floor at the hp, and the Dr. walked in to take another check on my Dad who just had his gallbladder out.
He was down here in PA helping with the lay out of a book for a friend, and when he was eating yesterday he started feeling rather unwell. Come to find out there was gangrene in there from back when he had cancer.
So they are going to keep him a few days to keep an eye on him.
So I'll be thinking about you all while here. :)
Pray she gets back to running around soon.
