I rescued Charlie from the animal shelter. He was a stray dog, and according to procedure, if he wasn't adopted in a set time, he would have been put down (i.e. killed). Instead, I offered him life and promised to provide for his needs.
That makes me a good person. Ironically, some of the same people who laude me for rescuing Charlie from an untimely death are opposed to rescuing human children from even more gruesome and untimely deaths.
I'm glad that I was able to give Charlie a home, but oh, that it were possible to rescue the thousands of babies every day who are legally murdered in the United States.
