While in Shipshewana, Indiana we watched part of the horse auction on Friday afternoon. The lot outside the white frame building was congested with Amish buggies and pick-up trucks with trailers. The actual auction area, where the bidding took place, was packed with people, but I edged my way along the upper walkways and photographed the horses and their owners nervously awaiting their turn in the arena.
